Peak Pilates Course

Peak Pilates PPC1 Teacher Training Course

The Peak Pilates PPC1 teacher training course is for anyone wishing to train to become a Pilates Instructor, no previous teaching experience is needed. Or for an existing Pilates Instructor wishing to train in Classical Pilates or to add equipment. At the end of PPC1 you will be qualified to teach mat, reformer, Cadillac, barrel, chair and small equipment.

The course is taught over four modules and supported by a detailed manual and DVD. Each module builds upon the knowledge and skills learned in the prior module and culminates in a Level I Peak Pilates Certification.

Our courses are deliberately small with a maximum of 8 people. We have a ration of 2:1 on the Reformers so everyone gets plenty of hands-on time as either the teacher or the student.

There is a strong emphasis on coaching and mentoring to ensure all of our students develop and grow as teachers. You will be given detailed feedback at the end of every module with specific tasks and exercises to do to move you forward.

Prerequisites: Some knowledge of basic human anatomy is beneficial, we can suggest pre-course reading for this. Plus 20 hours of Pilates experience ideally with a qualified Instructor.

Course Modules

Module 1: The Foundation (20 hours) Introduces students to the Pilates principles, fundamentals and the “Powerhouse”, and the Peak Pilates 5-Part Formula. Lessons focus on introductory mat work and building blocks.

Module 2: Introduction to the Apparatus (20 hours)
Students progress to lessons on the reformer, small barrel and high ladder barrel, and learn about transitions, cueing and touch techniques.

Module 3: Beginner/Intermediate Level Apparatus (20 hours)
Intermediate level reformer and ladder barrel exercises. More advanced teaching concepts include identifying common errors and proper body alignment and structuring a Pilates session.

Module 4: Teaching, Technique and Assessments (20 hours)
Students complete the remaining high ladder barrel exercises, plus the low chair exercises, plus practice teach, and review all exercises. Assessments are completed on the final day.

A Peak Pilates Level I certification is awarded to instructors who pass all level I assessments and complete 120 logged hours.
