Have you started the New Year with the motivation to get fit, healthy and strong? Well, you’re not alone. Did you know around 35% of people have a New Year’s resolution to either lose weight, make self-improvements or workout more? It can be tough but for most, it get tougher when January comes to a close and you suddenly realise your body hasn’t changed the way you wanted to, or maybe it’s starting to sink in that a lifestyle change is harder than you thought. Don’t worry! At Gymkit UK, we know the importance of being fit and healthy for life.

To us, working out isn’t about making a quick fix, it’s a lifestyle change that can transform you into a healthier and happier person. Here are some of our tips on sticking to your New Year’s Fitness Resolution:

1) Don’t Stress

It can be all too easy to think you have to make dramatic changes within a month to call your resolution success, but it’s not about quick fixes. Don’t worry if you haven’t seen the changes you wanted by know, stick to it and your hard work will pay off eventually.

2) Be Realistic

Similar to our last point, don’t expect unrealistic changes with your new fitness regime. Getting into a consistent routine is the most important so don’t set yourself a target of working out twice a day six times a week if you’ve never worked out before. Be realistic in your goals and your targets and you will find it much easier to stay on track and motivated.

3) Ignore Everyone Else

This is especially important if you are new to the gym, working out or a particular type of training. Of course, follow correct precautions and methods, but don’t compare yourself to someone who has been training longer than you. Focus on you and what your body can and will achieve. This will help you focus on how far you’ve come and make you feel more motivated.
